Princess Cruises' new Sun Princess set sail on its maiden voyage just a few weeks ago, after being delivered to Princess from Italy's Fincantieri shipyard February 14, 2024. The arrival of Sun Princess marks the first time Princess has launched a new class of ship in nearly 11 years. Sun Princess is the first Sphere Class ship

That said, as I am seeing this week, there's still a lot on Sun Princess that Princess regulars will recognize.
Other Sanctuary Collection amenities include priority specialty restaurant reservations, and premium stateroom amenities. But it's just a breakout section of The Sanctuary, the extra-charge, adults-only lounge area found atop Princess ships. It also seems small given the number of people staying in Signature suites (100, assuming two people for each of the ship's 50 suites). The standard rooms on Sun Princess aren't flashy, but they get the basics right — more than right. I miss my quieter atrium, and I suspect other Princess regulars will feel the same.
Inspired by the terraces of Santorini, it is a multi-level covered deck and first-of-its-kind true glass-enclosed dome ever constructed on a cruise ship. During the day, the Dome features an indoor/outdoor pool, and unique water feature, in a comfortable and relaxed space. At night, the pool becomes a stage, and the Dome completely transforms into an entertainment venue with a South Beach vibe, state-of-the-art lighting effects and the ability to deliver stunning aerial performances.
The line's Piazza spans three stories, forming an iconic architectural feature offering guests an outward looking suspended space with comfortable seating and areas to enjoy the ocean views in every direction. An impressive LED screen is also showcased in the center of the Piazza that can be moved and configured to deliver live entertainment programming. Adjacent to the Piazza Atrium will be a new coffee shop, Coffee Currents, Bellini's Cocktail Bar, along with Princess favorites like Crooners Bar and Alfredo's Pizzeria.
